The Procedure
Rhinoplasty is typically performed under general anesthesia and takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity. It can be done using either:
- Open Rhinoplasty: a small incision at the base of the nose for precise structural work.
- Closed Rhinoplasty: incisions inside the nostrils with no visible scarring.
After the procedure, a small nasal splint is worn for about a week, and most patients return to normal activities within 7–10 days.
Recovery and Results
Mild swelling and bruising are expected during the first week, gradually subsiding over time. The majority of the healing occurs within 3–4 weeks, but final nasal definition may continue to refine over several months.
